Welcome to RankFlicks. These Terms of Service govern the use of the RankFlicks platform and apply to registered users as well as visitors of the website.

1. Purpose of the platform

RankFlicks is a platform for creating, managing, publishing and comparing lists and rankings, particularly related to movies, TV shows and similar media content.

2. Registration and user accounts

Certain features require a user account. Users agree to provide accurate information during registration and to keep their credentials confidential.

Registration requires a valid email address and confirmation of a minimum age. Accounts must be verified by email.

3. Public and private content

Users may manage content as public or private. Public content may be visible to other users and visitors.

Users are solely responsible for the content they publish.

4. User-generated content

Users retain ownership of content they create. By publishing content, users grant RankFlicks a non-exclusive, limited right to host, display and make such content available within the platform as necessary to operate the service.

5. Rules of conduct

Users agree not to upload unlawful, abusive, misleading or otherwise inappropriate content or use the platform in a way that could negatively affect its operation.

Automated abuse, spam, manipulation and violations of third-party rights are strictly prohibited.

6. Suspension and deletion of accounts

RankFlicks may restrict, suspend or delete accounts in cases of violations of these Terms or where justified for security or abuse prevention reasons.

Unverified accounts may be removed after a reasonable period of time.

7. Availability

RankFlicks is provided free of charge. No guarantee is given regarding uninterrupted availability, error-free operation or the availability of specific features.

Features may be changed, extended or discontinued at any time.

8. External content and data sources

RankFlicks uses external content and metadata, particularly from The Movie Database (TMDB). No guarantee is given regarding the availability, completeness or accuracy of such external information.

9. Liability

RankFlicks is liable only within the limits of applicable law. No guarantee is provided for data loss, technical outages, interruptions in service availability or user-generated content.

10. Changes to these Terms

These Terms may be updated if technical, functional or legal requirements change. The current version will always be available on the platform.

11. Governing law

To the extent permitted by law, the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany shall apply.
