RankFlicks

RankFlicks is a personal hobby project that started with a very simple idea: I wanted a way to not only collect my favorite movies, but also arrange them in a personal order.

The core concept of RankFlicks is rankings — collections of media titles that are intentionally placed in a defined order. This creates more than just a list of favorites; it creates a personal ranking that can be expanded, revised and shared with others at any time.

RankFlicks supports different types of media and their various levels. Rankings can contain movies, TV shows, individual seasons or even individual episodes. This makes it possible to compare not only complete movies or series, but also things like the best seasons of a show or favorite episodes within a franchise.

Another major focus is the comparison of rankings. Public rankings can be compared with one another to highlight similarities and differences. This makes it easy to see where tastes overlap and where opinions diverge.

RankFlicks intentionally takes a somewhat different approach from traditional watchlists or rating platforms. The focus is not on individual ratings, but on the question of which title belongs ahead of another in a personal ranking.

The combination of rankings, comparison features and support for movies, TV shows, seasons and episodes is not something commonly found together in many other services. That flexibility is at the heart of RankFlicks.
